Luxor is the most affordable hotel on the Las Vegas Strip! Two Queen Suite Room Review... Luxor has a 24/7 Starbucks! (っ ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)っ🎔 Best Vegas Tickets, Attractions, & Stay Discounts: https://bit.ly/3oRUCCb LOCATION This casino should only take you about 10 minutes in a cab from the airport. The highway is also right there so it is easy to get to places and to get home. It's located on the MLife side of the strip where there are about 7 casinos that all connect easily on that end. They even have a tram running from Mandalay Bay to Luxor to Excalibur. Late night, it gets a little complicated because Luxor is the middle casino. You have to take one tram down to Mandalay Bay to catch it to go back up to the Luxor. If you are not up for a lot of walking, this side of the Strip is a great spot to stay. It's very easy to catch a taxi or tram to get you up to the middle. SCENE When we walked in, we were met with two large intimidating statues that really make you feel like you are about to walk into an Egyptian experience. The monstrous pyramid is triangular even on the inside. The walls of the casino are slanted, as are the windows and walls in the rooms, and the elevators go sideways too. The line for check in goes fairly quickly for being such a popular place to stay. Since it is a cheaper hotel on the Strip, it attracts all kinds of characters from seniors to partiers. The open aired bars and restaurants help pump the atmosphere full of life. This is a hotel for the active. It's fairly loud all the time, and you will hear people coming back to their rooms at all hours of the night. There are two floors to this casino. The top holds the shows and the food court while the bottom is the casino floor. There is no club in Luxor, so you won't be running in to that scene, but as I said there are plenty of open aired activities that keep the casino's energy pumping all day. The suite was very quiet but since we were next to the elevator, we could hear people entering and exiting them. There was no noise coming from outside the window because we faced the back of Mandalay Bay. The suite was fairly massive and plenty of space to do more than just sleep in it. FOOD They had a decent amount of options in the food court on the upper level, but it was fairly limited with just 3 spots. They had two Starbucks which was great, but the 24/7 one attracted a lot of people. I feel like people walked from other casinos to get to it. The line always went quick though. They had plenty of restaurants to choose from (they were just ok). I would NOT recommend the buffet unless you are just going for breakfast. I preferred the 24/7 cafe that was located near the elevators to the rooms at the back of the casino floor. The 24/7 cafe was THE BOMB and totally worth the walk if you need a late night snack! Their whole menu was available 24/7, including breakfast. The casino has a mall attached that leads to Mandalay Bay that has good food options too. You will find a pizza spot right there (we took a pie back up to the room one night) as well as this awesome bar called Ri Ra that you HAVE to check out! It was the best pub food I've had in a long time. POOL The Luxor's pools are one of the best on the Strip! They have all kinds of theme pool parties and attract all kinds of characters so just check the calendar before you decide to head to it. If you want more of a relaxing experience, you can get a day pass to Mandalay Bay's pool which has a beach, as well as multiples pools, and a lazy river. Overall, I had a really lucky stay as you can see by my picture. It is one of the older casinos on the strip, so if you go into it knowing that you get what you pay for, so to speak, you will have a great time. Make sure you ask for a renovated room, those beds were rough. Otherwise, It worked perfect for sightseeing and late night snacking. We also had such good luck in the hotel that we found ourselves spending a lot of time on the casino floor. They do say pyramids are supposed to bring luck! Like I always say, when you're in Las Vegas, you won't sleep! It's all walking, exploring, and partying! So why not go with the cheapest budget hotel and casino and save your money for all that Vegas has to offer! Don't spend all your money for one night at Aria, Cosmopolitan, Mandalay Bay, or Park MGM, when you can stay for the whole weekend for the same price! Silver Sevens recently transitioned to hybrid table games utilizing electronic tables. Because they previously had a progressive jackpot in place, that money must be awarded back to the players. They’ve decided to award it in one huge life changing chunk rather than spread it out and for the most part, no one seems to know about it. To win you must visit 11/7, 11/8, 11/14 or 11/15. (2024). Arrive before 6 pm and enter your name. 36 people will be randomly drawn to play 10 rounds and the player with the most tournament chips will advance to a final on 11/16. The winner of the final in the same format gets the cash prize. You may only participate once, must be 21, and your name remains in the drum for second chance drawings and prizes. I do not work for the resort or have additional information and all questions should be directed to them directly. I’m just sharing a huge giveaway with free entry. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasstarfish #giveaway #vegasnews #vegasresort #silversevens #silversevenshotel #silverseven #vegasevents #thingstodoinvegas #vegaslocal #vegaslocals #vegasgiveaway

2023 ABBI World Finals Day 5 LIVE from the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas

Join us as we hike from Wirepass to Whitehouse, via Buckskin Gulch. 2d/1n. This hike does require a permit. They only issue 20 permits a day, you will need to pick up your permit within 10 days of the hike. Permit: https://www.recreation.gov/permits/74984 How long does it take? From Wirepass to the campsite, it took us 9 hours, we could of made it sooner, but we were really enjoying our time in the canyon and we weren’t concerned about the time. If I were to do this hike again, I would start by 7 or 8am. From the campsite to the exit at Whitehouse it took around 3/3.5 hours, again you’ll want to start this hike early if temperatures are high, the canyon widens considerably after a mile or so, and you will be hiking in full exposure if you start late. When to go? It’s suggested to go during milder months like spring or fall to avoid the summer monsoon season which can bring sudden and deadly flash floods, no access to water, and extreme high heat. The heat is definitely an important factor to consider, if you are not used to it, especially with the added weight of carrying enough water and supplies, heat exhaustion and heat stroke can come up suddenly, and with the remoteness of this canyon, getting medical attention quickly is out of the question. At the same time it also worked in our favor, because most of the really deep water pools you need to wade through were either mostly dried up or easy enough to climb around. So how hard is it really? Well, that depends on you. Although there’s not a ton of elevation loss or gain, it is still a difficult hike mainly because the ground is super rocky and uneven the entire 21 miles. Okay, so what do you need to bring? If you’ve never done an overnight hike before, consider doing one that is more tame first so you can get the feel for it and to narrow down your gear. We were able to skimp in some areas, like not bringing a tent. Although you may want to because rattlesnakes are very common in this area, that was a concern. You’ll want to lay out everything you think you’ll need and consider if you’ll really use it. The water alone weighed 12lbs, and even small things start to add up. Here’s what I brought and actually used: 5.5 liters of water, a basic first aid kit (bandaids, mole skin, antibiotic ointment, Tylenol, and hydration tablets). I wore clothing that was thin and easy to dry, thin wool socks and an extra pair, your shoes are most likely going to be trashed after this hike, I wore an old pair of Merles that I got new insoles for to make them more comfortable. Sunscreen, a Garmin gps watch, baby wipes, a battery pack, headlamp. For sleeping I brought a cheap lightweight tarp, a Nemo sleeping pad, a thin blanket, a pillow I made. Of course you’ll want to bring food, I brought a dehydrated meal, some cliff bars, dried fruit, energy pouches, and a small stove and pot to boil water. *Its also good to have some ziplock baggies for trash and a dry pack to make sure everything stays dry. And here’s what I brought and didn’t end up using: a Sawyer squeeze and iodine tablets, I was able to ration my water and had some left over at the end of the hike, also the water that was thin enough for filtering near the campsite was pretty gross, had tadpoles swimming in it, also horses and mules comes through and go to the bathroom in the water, so its not ideal. Water shoes. I went through barefoot, but the others used shoes. Poop bag, you can’t dig cat holes back here, so its good to have just in case, and Rope, sometimes there’s a rope and sometimes not, so just assume its not there and bring one. Can I get lost? Yes, but probably not. The canyon guides you through, there are only 2 places where you have to make a decision, the first one is early on, after you go through Wirepass (1.7mi), you’ll reach the confluence where it intersects with Buckskin, you will see petroglyphs of sheep on a massive arched wall to your right, and you’ll go right to enter Buckskin. The second one, is the next day, not far after the campsite at the confluence with the Paria river, turning left here will put you north towards Whitehouse, if you miss this left and go straight that will put you towards Lees Ferry. What else do you need to know? No matter the time of year, but especially during the summer, you will want to check the weather, the day before you go and the morning of, not just for Kanab and Page, we also kept an eye on Panguich and Bryce Canyon. While there is an emergency exit, the chances of getting to it are slim in an emergency situation, so getting in a flash flood here would most likely not end well. Mark the Whitehouse lot on your gps, you won’t have any service on the hike, its not visible from where you’re walking in the wash. Tell someone reliable back home, where you will be hiking, where your going to park your car, and what time they should expect to hear from you. Hope this helps!
