Casino Monterrey presenta Un gran ambiente musical se llevó a cabo el 22 de febrero en la Terraza del Casino de Monterrey al celebrarse las tradicionales Comparsas. En esta ocasión, los performances estuvieron a cargo de los coreógrafos: Fabiana Margáin, Claudia Sada, Iván Freeman, Magaly Guerra y Maga Domene. El evento es organizado por el Consejo de Administración y el Comité de Damas, presidido por Lorenzo Barrera y Gabriela Jaime de Barrera. El Carnaval es una de las fiestas más emblemáticas y tradicionales del Casino Monterrey, con 147 años de historia, los mismos años de la fundación del Club, en el cual han participado bisabuelos, abuelos, tíos, papás, amigos e hijos de los socios actuales, disfrutando de grandes momentos en sus vidas. El evento ha ido evolucionando poco a poco, de carnaval pasó a ser comparsas, y hoy en día permanece así para los adultos en la primera presentación, pero en la segunda se convierte en una noche de ambiente disco con música y performances donde jóvenes bailan y conviven con todos sus amigos. Los performances son realizados por socios y amigos e invitan a algún coreógrafo para que los apoye en el diseño, música y danza con temas clásicos y modernos. Un poco de historia Desde el año de 1866, el esplendor de esta fiesta se hizo tan famosa, que los diarios de la Ciudad de México cubrían la nota. Y a la cual eran invitados presidentes y grandes personalidades de la época. Siendo precisamente para esta fiesta, cuando se utilizó por primera vez la luz eléctrica, a un costo de 16 pesos por toda la noche. Socios como Eugenio y Marcelo Garza Lagüera, Alonso Ayala, Armando Garza Sada, Rogelio Elizondo, Ivonne Mouret, Cristina Brittingham, Magdalena Alatorre y muchos más hicieron famosas las Comparsas en el Baile de Carnaval que se realiza desde esas fechas.
