In a shocking and tragic incident early Monday morning, a gunman opened fire outside the Grand Sierra Resort and casino in Reno, Nevada, leaving three people dead and several others injured. The horrifying spray of gunfire could be heard by guests from their rooms, as police rushed to the scene. The Sparks Police Department is leading the investigation, but the gunman’s motive remains unclear, and so far, there’s no known connection between the shooter and the victims. According to Police Chief Chris Crawforth, six people were shot in total, with three fatalities. Two others are still in critical condition, while one victim was released from the hospital by Monday afternoon. The suspect, who remains in police custody but hasn’t been publicly identified, was seen pacing in the parking lot of the resort for about 45 minutes before the attack. At some point, he entered the valet area of the casino, where he produced a handgun. Initially, the firearm malfunctioned, but the shooter managed to get it working and then opened fire on a group of victims. One person was killed in the valet area, and four others were wounded.
