Hello everyone! Come along and join me for an absolutely amazing adventure through two insane slot canyons here in southern Utah. Myself and two friends linked two hikes together, turning it into an overnight backpacking trip. We dropped a car at the trailhead of one hike then got shuttled to the trailhead of the other by my Fiancé. We spent the first day descending through the first slot canyon, coming to a confluence which connected it to the other hike , and hiking for a short time up that confluence, finding a spot to setup camp for the night. We made a great dinner and enjoyed a nightcap watching the stars come out. The next day we made breakfast and broke down camp before getting back into the wash and hiking up towards the second hike to make our way out to the truck. I ran out of water as I misjudged and didn't bring enough, but was saved by a small creek running in the second canyon that we were able to filter a little bit out of. Rehydrated, we made our way up the second slot canyon and made it to the truck, hungry to get back into town and enjoy a greasy hamburger. A truly amazing trip seeing all the amazing colors and textures of the rock and the depth of the canyons we hiked through. If you step onto the trails, please practice good LEAVE NO TRACE principles and practices, and leave the trail better than you found it for the next person to enjoy as much as you did!
